Calling all first years!
On October 9th, 2014 the English Students’ Union will be hosting their annual Fall Meet and Greet and First Year Elections. If you are a first year taking at least 0.5 FCE of ENG courses, and wish to help plan exciting social and academic events for the English community, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! As a first year representative, you will help to communicate to other first year students about upcoming ESU events, elections, academic workshops, as well as information about application deadlines for various writing contests and job opportunities. If you are interested, we ask that candidates fill out the nomination form with 10 signatures from students also taking at least 0.5 FCE of English credits this academic year. In addition, please prepare a short speech to deliver on the day of elections that expresses your interest in the position. In the end, two students will be elected for the 2014-2015 academic year. If you are not running for a position, all English students are still encouraged to attend and vote. There will be lightly served refreshments and the opportunity to meet face to face with your executive team! You will also be the first to learn details about our upcoming events, such as our pub night, fall academic seminar, book swap and much more! Hope to see you all there!
